Construction Continues for new 1.2MGD Waste Water Treatment Facility for the New Baha Mar Resort and Surrounding Support Facilities in Nassau, Bahamas.
The Baha Mar project is the largest single-phase resort project currently being developed in the Western Hemisphere. It is being touted as “The New Riviera", providing Hotels with 2,200 rooms, a 100,000 square foot Casino, 307 Private Residences, a 30,000 sq ft Spa, Energetic Night Life, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, and a Convention Center. It is expected that when complete the entire complex will employ upwards of 9,000 employees.
Sands Decker CPS was contracted to provide the design of a new 1.2 MGD Wastewater Treatment Facility to serve the new Baha Mar Resort. The project includes access drives, administration building, maintenance building, and a Orbal style Aeration Basin with Primary Clarifiers and Tertiary Filtration. The Treatment Facility will provide reuse water for the new golf course. Construction began with the New Administration and Lab Building in 2014 and has continued on to the Treatment Structures, with startup set for mid 2015.
