Failures associated with Avon’s existing sanitary sewer system caused unacceptable flooding problems in their facility. Some of these failures were associated with expansive soil problems causing pipe movement that resulted in improper sloping of the underground piping, which caused the flooding. This improper sloping was documented through the use of cameras placed in the underground piping.

Sands Decker was the primary consultant to New Avon LLC to perform the design work located outside the building footprint, and worked as a sub-consultant to perform the design work located inside the building footprint. This was a multi-disciplinary team with Monks, Tec Inc., and Terracon.
