Sands Decker provided site civil design services for the new 40,580 square foot ElectroScience Laboratory project. The project required connectivity and ADA access with the existing building, which was 40 feet from the new building in certain locations. In order to accomplish timely completion of the building pad via an early site package, the site parking included pervious concrete pavement in the parking stalls and standard concrete in the aisles. The use of the pervious concrete eliminated the need for drainage structures, which enabled site construction to proceed quickly. The pervious concrete also enabled the stormwater detention requirements to be met within the thickened granular base beneath the pavements of this densely developed site.
