The Pickaway Township Trustees selected Sands Decker as their engineering consultant to provide complete civil engineering services and surveying for the Zane Trail Road project including bidding and Issue II funding application assistance. The existing road was just under 20 feet in width. With frequent bus and occasional truck traffic, safety was a concern.
In 2004 Sands Decker prepared a complete Ohio Public Works Commission Issue II funding application for the project and enabled the township to successfully receive both a $309,000 grant and a $103,000 loan for the project. Sands Decker completed phase 2 & 3 by carefully tailoring the project and the township’s funding contribution to maximize the funding application scoring. The project now provides safe travel and improved drainage for this heavily used rural road.
