The Wilds Overlook and Cheetah Enclosure

The Wilds, a private, non-profit conservation center on nearly 10,000 acres of reclaimed land in rural southeastern Ohio, needed to expand existing facilities to meet continually growing needs. The Sands Decker team has been involved in several projects at The Wilds, including providing topographic and utilities surveys, stormwater management assessments, site grading, soil and erosion control plans, and construction phase services. The most recent projects were expansion of the Overlook and the addition of cheetah enclosures. The Overlook expansion added approximately 5,000 square feet of guest space by enlarging the indoor dining/meeting space, adding additional restroom facilities, and developing an outdoor covered patio dining. Additional cheetah enclosures were added to The Carnivore Center to better accommodate potential growth with cheetahs as well as improve the visitor experience.
